Common attack and fault vectors for integrated systems are glitches on clock or power lines. These may not only occur in attack scenarios but also in incorrect use or due to design errors. This may cause short dips on the supply forcing the system out of its usual operating region and lead it to unwanted operating conditions.
This project aims at creating circuits for detecting these glitches to enable the system to react correctly when attacked. For high reuse and portability, these circuits should be realized in a purely digital fashion. On the base of for instance ring oscillators or delay elements, the system clock or other properties should be observed and evaluated.

WHAT TO DO:

  • Dive into digital synthesis
  • Concept for different fault scenarios and observation circuits
  • Implementation and documentation
  • Validation in a prototype scenario

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:

  • Programming languages: Python, Verilog
  • Digital circuit design experience (e.g. FPGA) of advantage

AND THIS IS US:

We strengthen enterprises with application-oriented research and development in microelectronics, systems engineering and mechatronics and transfer the results of basic research into applications and products. We support companies in launching internationally successful innovations for health, the environment and industry and provide solutions from the feasibility study to series production.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!

We thank you for your interest in working with us.

WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU:

  • An attractive workplace in a modern, very well-equipped and industry-oriented research institute
  • Work directly at the interface between university and industry
  • Work in a flexible and creative team and on innovative and challenging topics

For the tasks described in the job offer and with the existing working conditions, an application is possible irrespective of gender and/or any physical disabilities. We foster professional equality of women and men. We invite women in particular to apply.
